Video Blogging
Blogging and embedding video into your articles is simple. Once you have a video you should upload it into YouTube.com. There is really no reason to upload video onto your own site when you can develop a social following for your video content on YouTube and not have to worry about the space video might take up on your website.
How To Add Video To Blog
There are several ways to add video to your blog and the easiest one is to go to YouTube.com and click the drop-down button that says “Embed” which is under the video.
After the drop-down box opens, you have 5 selections to make before you can embed your video in your WordPress blog.
- 1. Leave the box checked if you would like related videos to be displayed on your blog. These will not be all your videos. I usually uncheck it.
- 2. Decide if you want to have a border all around or just at the bottom.
- 3. Pick your color scheme.
- 4. Select your size preference. I usually pick the smallest one. That is the safest bet if you do not know what size to pick. If you see that your blog has more space then you could pick a bigger one.
- 5. Then copy the code in the box. Highlight it and copy it.

After that, come back to your WordPress admin section and notice at the top of your “add post” tool bar there are two tabs, visual and html. Select html.

It is easiest to already have your titles, paragraphs and content in place and pretty much ready to go. Place your cursor where you want the video to be in your article. Then just paste it in.
This is what the code looks like. It is pretty long code that extends down your page. It is best to have all your content in place before adding your video then just place it exactly where you want it.
NEVER switch back to the visual mode without saving your video first. Save or publish your video then if you have edits to make, go back in and do so.
You always have to be careful when you do any editing on an article that has video in it. If you are not careful, some of your code will just plain disappear for no apparent reason.
Video In Blog
Adding video in your blog can add extra value to your article. You can put other people’s videos in as well. Any video that has the embed feature available to the general public is open for embedding into your blog.
