Pick forums and blogs to comment on that are related to your niche. Have your profiles reflect what you are interested in networking about and add value to those interested in your niche and the traffic will be more targeted. In blogging, making a comment on a site that does not add value to the article will not be approved. Be sure that you are not blatantly advertising as that becomes spam.
